“Live each day as if it's your last', that was the conventional advice, but really, who had the energy for that? What if it rained or you felt a bit glandy? It just wasn't practical. Better by far to simply try and be good and courageous and bold and to make a difference. Not change the world exactly, but the bit around you. Go out there with your passion and your electric typewriter and work hard at...something. Change lives through art maybe. Cherish your friends, stay true to your principles, live passionately and fully and well. Experience new things. Love and be loved, if you ever get the chance.”

❝Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.❞

Pardon the badly taken photo (& poor choice of seats): last night we watched Cary Brothers in concert, and he was phenomenal. Even though he didn’t play The Glass Parade/Something About You, when he played Ride I think I died a little inside. During the interlude between him and Brooke Fraser (who was actually not half bad) I checked upcoming gigs, like Soundwave 2012, on my phone. Really need to make next year’s travel plans a reality, because if not now, then when?

Yesterday was a good but tiring day. Woke up in the morning and took a two hour long stroll starting from Malet Street, along Covent Garden and Leicester Square until I reached the London Eye, and then finally along the River Thames to St Paul’s Cathedral. One thing this trip has made me realize is that: I am okay with being alone. More than that, I actually enjoy being alone, because it clears my head and gives me a chance to think.

By the time I got there it was already 12 and I knew I was going to be late for lunch with Uncle Look-Chih, so I ran to the nearest tube station and took a highly inefficient route to Temple Station (had to change trains four times, for god’s sake). Damn the stupid tube and it’s lack of reception as well ): Lunch with Uncle Look-Chih was really good, he’s so friendly and welcoming and he feels a little bit like a dad really. He told us that he tries to be his daughters’ friend first, before anything else, and I think that seems like good advice to keep in mind for the future. We had supposedly the best Argentinian steak in London in a beautiful swanky restaurant nestled in the heart of the lawyer’s district. It was such a treat compared to the pub food/sandwiches/crappy meals I’ve been eating lately. After lunch he took us to Westfield and we had tea and walked around until it was time for the show.

Cabbed back after the show ended because Shepherd’s Bush was pretty far from central London and the cab fare was 23 pounds for less than ten minutes in the cab, good god. I swear London cab drivers make so much money - the metre goes up by 20 pence every 6 seconds, which is 2 pounds (or 4 sing) every minute. Feel like I should be one of them cabbies in the future :)

Okay time to pack now, Singapore awaits~
